Ramirez-Bardell, Carpentier, Krystina and Isabella Us-Zapata power Rangers to conference heights

COURTESY PHOTO: ESTACADA SOFTBALL - Estacada softball celebrated its four seniors on Senior Night. Estacada softball capped the regular season with a pair of wins and a celebration of four seniors who have changed the culture of the program and powered the Rangers to new heights.

Emilee Ramirez-Bardell, Katey Carpentier, Krystina Us-Zapata and Isabella Us-Zapata have all provided leadership, a steady presence on defense, and hot bats for an Estacada team that won the Tri-Valley Conference.

Ramirez-Bardell is the starting catcher, and Coach Mike Clark said it is nearly impossible to steal on the reigning first-team all-leaguer. She has also hit over .500 on the season.

Carpentier has only played softball for two years, but worked hard to earn starts and don a captain's badge.

"Katey gets the girls pumped up and ready to play," Clark said. "She has come up with several key defensive plays in the outfield and key hits."

Kristina is one of the star hitters for the Rangers, knocking home her teammates with game-winning runs batted in; and her sister Isabella both pitches and plays right field for the Rangers. Isabella is also hitting over .400 on the season.

That quartet of talented players were honored Wednesday afternoon, May 11, on a Senior Night marked by a revenge rout of Corbett. Estacada beat the Cardinals 18-2, making up for their only League losses in back-to-back games against Corbett.
