Many Estacada area parks temporarily shutter
Most parks in the Estacada area are closed to promote social distancing during the COVID-19 outbreak.
City leaders announced that Wade Creek Park and Campanella Playground are closed until further notice. PGE facilities, including Timber Park, Promontory Park, Timothy Lake Campground and Lake Harriet Campground, are closed through at least May 8. Oregon State Parks, including Milo McIver, are also temporarily shuttered.
At Clackamas County Parks, events scheduled through May 15 are canceled, and new reservations are suspended through July 31.
"Our most important obligation is the safety of our visitors and our staff," said Tony Dentel, PGE's parks and recreation manager. "We will continue to make preparations for all our parks to open beginning in May, with hopes that responsible social distancing measures will allow us to make these natural places available for families to get outdoors during the summer recreation season."
