You remember pedometers that counted your steps? How about a heart monitor? Yeah, but those are old school, now we have fitness activity trackers that are all-in-one devices that connect o the internet or your phone to track your fitness data and even share your information with others. About 14 companies make wearable fitness devices and 2.8 billion dollars in sales were made in 2019. That's a lot of fitness trackers. The main features of fitness trackers are:

Step counters. Self-explanatory.

Heart monitor. Yes, these monitor heart rate.

Calorie monitor and counter. Tells how many calories you ate and how many you used up. Just a little scary.

Exercise tracker. How much and how many calories burned.

Sleep monitor. Not only how much, but how well. Also scary.

Goal setting. Set them, get told when you meet them. Or don't meet them.

And finally, connectivity. Trackers connect to apps on your phone or internet to track your progress and share it online.

These trackers do motivate you to get moving. Most folks are surprised by how many or how few steps they actually take every day. Counting those calories may shock you, too. That much? Wow. If a tracker helps you with your goals, get one.
