Summers are getting hotter in western Oregon. Who remembers those days above 110 degrees for days from last year? Scotties Auto Body has some tips to keep your car cool so you can enjoy the weather and or at least do what has to be done.

When getting into a hot parked car, roll down the windows to let out hot air and turn on the maximum air conditioning button to cool your car in a hurry. If you get too cold, adjust the temperature or fan speed to help keep the temperature consistent. Don't switch your air conditioner on and off.

Too cold in the front, but still hot in the back seat? Redirect the front vents to the ceiling or sides to move cool air to the rear.

Park in the shade and use a reflective windshield to reduce heat buildup in your parked car. If you have a moonroof or large panoramic roof, close the roof shade to avoid heat buildup from the sun. Starting temperatures will be much lower, and your car will get cool sooner.

If your older car isn't as cool, or if the cooling is inconsistent, call Scotties Auto Body right away. Some refrigerant may have escaped from the system, and it's not working as well. Scotties' mechanics can fix that up for you.

Keep your car cool and comfortable this Summer. Scotties can handle any cooling issues so you can continue to function in the heat.
