In spite of the negative news reports about home prices, there are still deals out there. Prices are competitive, and with rents possibly going up over 14% owning a home is looking more attractive.

With higher rents, owning a home is a better financial decision. You are paying yourself, not your landlord. Every mortgage payment builds equity in your home. You will likely see your home increase in value, and what you pay in rent for a one- or two-bedroom apartment can get you a nice three- or four-bedroom home.

Though the housing market changes, people still get married, divorced, move and have children. Owning a home provides stability, because no matter what happens you can still go home at night or after school.

"If you own your home, you can still get stuff done. Paint any color you want. Plant a yard full of cactus or no yard at all. It's your so make your changes.

There are also deals on new construction. Builders are offering incentives and buyers are in a better position to negotiate right now." The advantage of a realtor like Edwards is that she can negotiate for you and spare you the hard work.

"The market is more balanced now," Edwards says, "A lot of people want to buy a new home and sell their existing one." Contact me today and let me help you buy or sell your next home.
