Short films, with Bilderback interviews, air on TVCTV

The fifth in a series of short, online documentaries on “Hidden Cemeteries of Washington County” became available Monday on Tualatin Valley Community Television (TVCTV).

The local history films, which vary in length from roughly 12 to 17 minutes, feature former KOIN TV Reporter Janis Collins interviewing amateur historian Ken Bilderback as they amble between gravestones in local cemeteries while Bilderback tells stories about the people who are buried there.

The new “Murder or Suicide” episode, for example, focuses on a mysterious death and the early forensic science used to investigate the case.

The other four films focus on gravesites related to Gales Creek/Forest View/Cornelius cemeteries; Old Scotch Church/Hill/Cherry Grove cemeteries; confederate soldiers; and sheriffs of Washington County.

Bilderback and his wife, Kris Bilderback, research and write books about the history of western Washington County. The cemetery videos were conceived by Bilderback and Jon Coble of the Metropolitan Area Communications Commission and TVCTV, and are produced by Coble.
