PETER HAGEMANThe senior judge for this year's Forest Grove Concours d'Elegance is Peter Hageman, a classic car owner, judge at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and co-founder of the Kirkland Concours (now the Pacific Northwest Concours d’Elegance).

Automobiles owned by Hageman were recently featured in an exhibit called “Master Collectors” at LeMay — America’s Car Museum.

Hageman, who lives in Washington state, has displayed automobiles at the Forest Grove Concours many times since 1995.

Catching the car bug early, Hageman rode with his father to his first Concours d’Elegance in a Packard 443 Phaeton. He has been active in the hobby since the 1970s, and today he participates in many collector car rallies and Concours events around the world.

For the past 16 years Hageman has judged at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and currently holds the position of Chief Class Judge, Preservation. His prior experience includes judging at a CCCA Grand Classic, 10 years as chairman of the Northwest Bentley Drivers Club, judging in the Rolls Royce Owners Club and judging at the Palace Het Loo Concours in the Netherlands.

He is sought after as an expert on Bentley automobiles, and is credited as one of the editors of the book "Bentley — 50 Years of the Marque." His garage is home to a wide variety of motorized vehicles, including a 1927 Bentley 3 liter, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, a 1926 Packard and several vintage motorcycles.

Sponsored by the Forest Grove Rotary Club, the local Concours event is set for Sunday, July 19, at Pacific University. Gates will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
