Nominations due October 5, award presentation November 7 in Banks City Council Chambers

Nominations are due Thursday, Oct. 5. Award presentations will be made at the Nov. 7 Banks City Council meeting.

Each year, a selection committee chooses one nominee based on community involvement and service.

Nominators should choose candidates based on whether they meet the set criteria:

- Exemplifies a life dedicated to the Banks' way of hard work, self-improvement and community service.

- Embodies the spirit of philanthropy while showing a remarkable commitment in both their personal and professional lives to improving the city of Banks.

- Preserves, celebrates and promotes richness of history, tradition and values of the city, while working to create a better world for all in the future by the work they do today.

- Shares gifts with the community to boost recognition of the city of Banks.

Nominees should live in Banks or the surrounding area. Past recipients, city employees and elected officials are not eligible. Jim Hough won the award in 2012, Jim Lucas and Kathie Jackson in 2013, Raymond Deeth in 2014, Mark Ward in 2015 and Marion Steinbach in 2016.
