Annual celebration of Latino culture returns to Hillsboro this weekend with parade, dancing.

             Hillsboro's annual celebration of Latino culture returns to downtown this Sunday, May 20.

The 14th annual Latino Cultural Festival runs from noon until 5 p.m. at the Hillsboro Civic Center, 150 E. Main St.

The annual event features live music, street games, food, arts and crafts, artisan clothing and other family-friendly activities throughout the day.

An opening celebration parade at noon will include students from Hillsboro elementary schools, as well as a performance by La Danza Azteca.

There will be performances on the main stage and "Emerging Talent" youth stage performances until 4:30 p.m.

Before the festivities begin at noon, a street futsal tournament starts at 9 a.m.

The Latino Cultural Festival is a popular event in the city, drawing around 10,000 people to Hillsboro from across the state, according to event organizers.

Admission is free.
