Three-week closure upcoming on David Hill Road
Beginning Monday, July 30, a segment of Northwest David Hill Road in Forest Grove will close for maintenance.
The Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation announced Friday, July 13, that it will be replacing a culvert in between Thatcher Road and Antler Drive, necessitating the closure.
Before the full closure goes into effect, David Hill Road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. next Thursday, July 19, for the replacement of a utility pole.
David Hill Road will then be closed through the area of work for three weeks starting July 30, according to the county's schedule. It is expected to re-open on Aug. 20, with some additional work possible through Aug. 26.
During the closure, a detour route will be established along Forest Gale Drive, Gales Creek Road and Thatcher Road, according to an area map provided by the county.
The work is needed because the existing culvert is "undersized" and "in poor condition," the county stated Friday.
The project will also see the shoulders on David Hill Road widened through the area and guardrails installed for safety.
