Pacific hires PCC vice president to finance, administration job
Jim Langstraat's title isn't changing, but his employer is.
Pacific University announced this week that Langstraat has been hired as the university's new vice president for finance and administration. He has held that position at Portland Community College for the past three years.
"Jim's administration style and vision strongly align with our values of financial sustainability, shared governance and social justice here at Pacific," said Lesley Hallick, president of the university, in a statement. "His demonstrated ability at PCC to lead by simplifying complex information for a diverse group of stakeholders set him apart from a truly outstanding pool of candidates."
In his new position at Pacific, Langstraat succeeds Mike Mallery, who resigned for what the university described as "personal reasons related to health and family matters" earlier this year.
Langstraat has worked at PCC since 2012, most recently serving as the community college's vice president of finance and administration. Prior to that, he served as the chief financial officer for the North Clackamas School District from 2006 to 2012. He also held several financial administration jobs at school districts in Iowa prior to relocating to Oregon.
Pacific said that Langstraat is expected to start work at the university on Oct. 1.
