Deputies search for culprit in Banks convenience store robbery
Washington County sheriff's deputies are looking for the suspect in a possible armed robbery at a convenience store in Banks Tuesday morning, Sept. 4.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office said it responded to a report of armed robbery at Time Out Gas Station, 49950 N.W. Sunset Highway, just before 6 a.m. Tuesday.
A gas station employee reported that a man had robbed him and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.
The Sheriff's Office said the victim initially characterized the incident as having been a robbery at gunpoint, but investigators are unsure whether the suspect was armed, concluding only that he implied he was carrying a gun.
Deputies searched the area, along with Forest Grove and Beaverton police — including a Beaverton K-9 unit — but were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described only as male, wearing dark clothing at the time of the alleged robbery.
An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 503-846-2500.
