The motorcyclist reportedly clipped the back of an SUV in an attempt to pass on Zion Church Road.

   A 66-year-old man died in a multi-vehicle crash near Cornelius on Wednesday afternoon, April 17, according to Washington County Sheriff's Office.

According to Sgt. Danny DiPietro, the crash occurred near the intersection of Zion Church Road and Milne Road.

DiPietro said a GMC Jimmy was slowing down to make a left turn on Milne Road while traveling eastbound on Zion Church Road on April 17 when a motorcyclist attempted to pass the GMC on the right, clipping the right rear-end of the vehicle, according to the initial crash investigation.

The motorcyclists' name was not released. The driver of the GMC stayed on the scene of the crash and is cooperating with the investigation, the Sheriff's Office said. Impairment is not believed to be a factor.

The inter-agency Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and the Cornelius Fire Department assisted in the investigation.
