Deputies looking for person who shot Hillsboro-area horse
Washington County sheriff's deputies are asking the public's help to find the person responsible for shooting a horse on a farm south of Hillsboro on Monday, June 3.
Deputies were called to the 32600 block of Southwest Reidweg Road on Sunday to a report that a horse had been shot. When deputies arrives, they found Jasper, a 9-year-old Bay, had been shot twice while in a pasture. Deputies said the animal was shot once in the face near its jaw and once in its left thigh.
The animal will have surgery to remove the bullets, deputies said. Jasper is expected to survive.
Deputies say they found several bullet casings on the roadside near the pasture, and it appears the animal was shot intentionally.
Anyone with information into the case is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff's Office, 503-846-2700.
