At least one person was killed in a crash on Northwest Gales Creek Road at David Hill Road, west of Forest Grove, late Tuesday morning, Sept. 17, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
The two-vehicle crash was reported at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday. Police cruisers, fire trucks and ambulances were dispatched from multiple agencies, speeding through Forest Grove on Pacific Avenue to reach the crash scene.
The LifeFlight Network was activated, and at least one air ambulance helicopter was dispatched to the scene, according to Deputy Brian van Kleef, a spokesman for the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Van Kleef said at least two people were reportedly trapped inside one of the vehicles involved in the crash.
Two people were ultimately transported to the hospital.
Both Pacific Avenue in Forest Grove and Gales Creek Road west of Forest Grove are signed as Highway 8. The highway is closed at the scene of the crash and will likely remain so well into Tuesday afternoon.
Wet roads may have been a factor in the crash, according to investigators. It rained steadily in Forest Grove throughout Tuesday morning, leaving surfaces slick in spots.
