Gresham man guilty of sex abuse, sentenced to 10 years
A man was sentenced last week to 10 years in prison for sexually abusing an underage girl in Washington County.
Ronald Bruce Jordan admitted to abusing a girl under 14 during separate incidents in 2013 and 2014. Jordan was charged with sex crimes dating back to 2011, but most of those charges were dropped as part of a plea bargain.
Jordan, who resides in Gresham, was investigated by the Forest Grove Police Department starting in February after the victim reported the abuse. He was arrested in April, and he admitted to investigators that he had inappropriate contact with the victim, according to the Washington County District Attorney's Office.
According to court documents, Jordan pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree sexual abuse. He confessed to inducing the victim into touching his penis in August 2013 and again in August 2014.
The victim and Jordan were known to one another prior to the start of the sexual abuse, according to prosecutors.
Jordan was sentenced Oct. 2 by Washington County Circuit Judge Danielle Hunsaker. He is also required to register as a sex offender as part of his sentence, and he is prohibited from having contact with minors.
As a matter of policy, the News-Times does not identify the victims in sexual abuse cases.
