Authorities say they seized digital evidence from a Yamhill residence and arrested Jacob Vernon Olive.

A Yamhill man is facing multiple felony charges of sexual abuse and child pornography after he was arrested Friday night, Feb. 14, according to the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office.

Jacob Vernon Olive, 34, was arrested at a residence in the 400 block of East Main Street in Yamhill, about 8 miles south of Gaston. The Sheriff's Office said it executed a search warrant and seized "digital and other evidence supporting sex abuse charges" during the search.

Olive was lodged in the Yamhill County Jail on charges of first-degree sexual abuse, encouraging child sexual abuse and using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office said it received a tip from the Oregon Department of Justice alerting Yamhill County authorities to the suspected abuse.

Olive is the second man in the Yamhill-Carlton region to be arrested on suspicion of making child pornography in a little over a year.

Robert Allen Koester, a Carlton-area photographer, was arrested in February 2019 on child porn and sex abuse charges. He pleaded guilty to similar charges in California last October and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
