Washington County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a hiker found skeletal human remains in a wooded area of Aloha around noon on Saturday, Feb. 22.
Deputies say the hiker was walking on a footpath near the woods and railroad tracks southeast of Tualatin Valley Highway at Southwest 160th Avenue when they came upon the body and alerted authorities.
Deputies secured the area and detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit investigated. The Medical Examiner has determined the skeleton belonged to an adult who died at least several months ago. Police say there is no evidence of foul play at this time, but the case remains active.
A spokeswoman for WCSO told our media partner, KOIN 6 News, that several transient camps were also located in the vicinity.
