Forest Grove schools closed Friday, distance learning continues
The Forest Grove School District announced Friday morning, Feb. 12, that in-person events are canceled due to inclement weather.
School facilities will stay closed Friday and through the Presidents Day weekend. Meal service is canceled as well.
The closure affects limited in-person instruction, but it does not have an impact on comprehensive distance learning, the school district said.
Most Forest Grove students continue to take their classes virtually through the district's comprehensive distance learning program due to the coronavirus pandemic, although a small number of students have been invited back to classrooms based on their needs.
Athletics and in-school activities have been canceled for Friday as well.
Forecasters predict more snow to come Friday, after much of Thursday's precipitation fell in the form of freezing rain and sleet in Washington County.
