The crash was reported minutes after 5 a.m. at the junction of Highway 47 and Highway 8.

The operator of a motorcycle died Tuesday morning, April 20, after a collision with a vehicle in Forest Grove, police say.

Capt. Michael Hall, a spokesperson for the Forest Grove Police Department, said the crash was reported at the intersection of Highway 8, signed locally as Pacific Avenue, and Highway 47, signed north of Pacific Avenue as Quince Street and south as Tualatin Valley Highway, at about 5:08 a.m.

The crash is under investigation.

Police say it appears that a sedan with a single occupant was attempting to turn left onto Pacific Avenue from Quince Street when it collided with a northbound motorcycle on Highway 47.

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors, according to police.

The intersection of the highways was closed for several hours following the fatal crash.
