Main Street was busy over the weekend as chalk artists created beautiful but temporary works of art.

The twin events are the unofficial kickoff for fall in Forest Grove. The Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival brightens up Main Street with colorful artwork — run, don't walk, to see it before the inevitable fall rains come and wash it all away — while the Corn Roast fills hungry bellies with hot dogs, hamburgers and fresh-roasted ears of corn.
