"We have an actual switch to turn on the tree lights this year," Forest Grove/Cornelius Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Juanita Lint said.

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be posing for photos at the American Legion Post 2 on 21st Ave. Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. as the organization hosts an open house. Six baskets of holiday gifts and toys from local businesses valued around $100 each will be auctioned off.

"We hear a lot (about) 'we didn't know you were here, so we want to open our doors to everyone,'" American Legion Post 2 Adjutant Wendy Berger Wood said. "We want people to know what we do and how we are available to help."

Saturday Dec. 3 at the city auditorium the annual holiday artisan and ornament market runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. before the Forest Grove Holiday Light Parade makes its way down Main St. starting at 5 p.m.
