Have your say with the FAA
The June 18, 2020, issue printed my concerns about "Stop air, noise pollution at Hillsboro Airport," outlining the problem with heightened noise and lead pollution we citizens experience from the flight training school located there. The letter was actually copied from one I sent to the Federal Aviation Agency's ombudsperson.

We still have our lives ahead of us
I sat outside of an ice cream shop. A man and his son walked out the front door holding ice cream cones. The man and his son did not have masks. Just outside the front door, the man spit on the ground. It was so disgusting, and I wanted to yell and swear at him, but I didn't. I immediately threw away my shake. What a role model he is for his son!
I want to share with all of you a miracle!
My uncle, my dad's older brother, was born in 1919. His mother was pregnant with him and she became sick with the Spanish flu. My uncle was born a month or more premature in May. They both survived.
My grandfather was away in World War I. So my grandmother had to leave Jordan, Montana, and go to the nearest hospital, which I think was Miles City, Montana, to have her first baby. My uncle had one eye that was cross-eyed from the birth.
When my dad was 7 years old and my uncle 10 years old, the family moved to Billings, Montana.
Years later, my uncle joined the Navy and my dad joined the Army Air Corps in World War II.
I hope this gives all of you some hope in this difficult time!

Literacy responses to the Trump administration
Like a lot of people living during this pandemic, I've had ample time to read. It's funny the amount of quotes and songs I have come across that brings to mind that twit currently residing in the White House.
Quote #1: "Suppose you were a member of Congress." (Suggest changing "a member of Congress" to "president.") "Suppose you were an idiot. But I repeat myself." — Mark Twain
Quote #2: "Some cause happiness wherever they go; some whenever they go." Oscar Wilde
Quote #3: "His mother should have thrown him away and kept the stork." — Mae West
Quote #4: "In politics, a lie unanswered becomes truth in 24 hours." — Willie Brown
Quote #5: "He has never been know to use a word that might send a reader to the dictionary." — William Faulkner
Last but not least from the TV reality show "Cops." This for the corruption and assault on the Constitution by Trump and his administration when they are out of office:
Bad boys, bad boys
Whatcha gonna do, whatcha
When they come for you
