by: COURTESY PHOTO - Tim and Myles Thompson, who are blazing a trail as a father-son duo, will be in Forest Grove this weekend.Tim and Myles Thompson, the father-son duo that’s racking up accolades for their brand new Time4Me2Go release, will be appearing at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan., 24 at Vic’s Guitar Cave, 1927 21st Ave. in Forest Grove.

Tickets are available at or at the door.

The duo will also be conducting a music workshop at Vic's Saturday, Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Their intricate jazz phrasing has been compared to Chet Atkins, Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grapelli, Chick Corea and New Grass Revival.

Time4Me2Go, the fourth studio release for the Thompsons that uses no overdubs or studio tricks, is a one-of-a-kind combination of improvisational jazz, traditional folk, singer-songwriter, country, rock and world music.

Myles is quickly drawing attention for his fiddle work and songwriting skills with a sophisticated playing style that is well beyond his years.

Tim had already built a reputation for his intricate style before he started playing with his son, winning first place at the prestigious Walnut Valley Festival’s “International Fingerstyle Guitar Competition” and earning acclaim from such respected publications as Fingerstyle Guitar magazine,Taylor Guitar’s Wood & Steel magazine, and Just Jazz Guitar magazine.
