Comedies, Disney shows, Shakespeare on tap in Forest Grove

Theatre in the Grove’s board of directors recently approved its 45th season of plays and musicals. The lineup includes contemporary hits as well as much-loved classics.

n Before the regular season begins, Theatre in the Grove is offering a special event. Two local actors, Jenny Hauser and James Grimes, will perform the two-person, contemporary musical “The Next 5 Years.” The production runs Sept. 5 to 14 and is not included in season flex passes.

n The regular season opens with Shakespeare’s comedy, “As You Like It,” which will run Oct. 10 to 26.

n On Halloween, Theatre in the Grove is bringing back the popular “Haunted Theatre.”

n The family musical “Shrek,” based on the popular animated film, will run Dec. 5 to 21.

n “Disney’s Beauty and The Beast Jr.” will run Jan. 16 to 25.

n A cast will perform the compelling musical “The Spitfire Grill” Feb. 27 to Mar. 15.

n “The Full Monty,” based on the hit film of the same name, will run April 17 to May 3. This production contains mature themes and language.

n The season concludes with the comedy “Mama Won’t Fly,” by the authors of “The Dixie Swim Club.” The production will run May 29 to June 14.

Evening performances are 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Matinee performances are at 2:30 on Sundays.

Ticket sales for the 2014-15 season will begin in July. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for seniors (60 and older) and youths (17 and younger). Tickets can be purchased online at or at the box office one hour before each performance.

TITG is offering a six-performance season ticket flex pass, which can be used for multiple seats at one production or to attend productions throughout the season. Flex pass ticket prices are $59.50 for adults and $49.50 for seniors and youths.
