by: NEWS-TIMES FILE PHOTO - The farmers market will complement First Wednesday today in downtown Forest Grove. Next week brings a new month. June is upon us, announcing the end of the school year, the arrival of summer and the time for family vacations.

This month’s First Wednesday theme, “Staycation Forest Grove,” celebrates all there is to see and do right here in western Washington County and helps visitors and locals alike rediscover local recreational activities.

The Forest Grove Downtown merchants open their doors for evening festivities the first Wednesday of every month from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Enjoy tastings from local wineries, listen to music, take advantage of food specials from restaurants, shop stores offering bargains, peruse art galleries and check out the crafts vendors.

The farmers market will also be open on Main Street in downtown with fresh produce, hot food and other local items from 4 to 8 p.m.
