Frite & Scoop, a treat shop based in Astoria, will no longer be opening its second location in Forest Grove.

In an announcement posted on Facebook on Wednesday, Dec. 12, the owners Kevin and Lisa Malcolm cited the shop's financial impact as a reason.

"We want to thank you for your overwhelming show of support and enthusiasm for Frite & Scoop," the Malcolms wrote in a social media message. "It has filled us with gratitude, and made us feel so welcomed and happy."

The couple planned to move into 2001 Main St., and continued to push back the grand opening originally planned in early November.

"We are refocusing on our Astoria shop for 2019, and we will give it all of the energy and attention it deserves," they said. "After that, who knows? If we can find another perfect storefront, there is nowhere we'd rather expand than Forest Grove. It really is such a special town. We love it."
