Despite being down two dancers heading into the contest, the Vikettes took home first place trophies in both the Kick and Pom competitions, and with increasing scores in both, continue to hold on to their "Superior" ranking in Pom and remain amongst the highest scoring teams in their division.

"It was a hard week," Vikettes head coach Erika Myrick said. "The girls were preparing for a very important weekend of competition and having two holes almost defeated them."

It didn't however, and due to such the coach went on to speak highly of her team and their fortitude, pointing to their perseverance and commitment as keys to their success.

FGHS hopes to continue their run of success when they compete at the DDCA (Dance Drill Coaches Association) of Oregon Category Championships Saturday, Dec. 4, at Sherwood High School.
