The world is opening back up and after all those months cooped up inside, it is time to hop into your Kia and get on the road! See stuff, breathe new fresh air, visit with your family and friends! But before you jump into the car and take off, do a little preparation. Nobody wants car trouble on a trip.

Check the battery: Be sure the connections are tight and corrosion-free.

Inspect belts and hoses: No fraying, or slack in the belts and no cracks or drips in the hoses.

Top off fluids and replace filters: Check and fill oil, power steering, windshield and transmission fluids and coolant. Check and replace the air filter if necessary.

Check the brakes and inspect the tires: If your brakes are squealing or the pedal feels spongy when you press it, have your brakes checked before you go. Check tire pressure and condition of the tread. If there is uneven wear you may need your tires rotated or an alignment before you leave.

Remember to organize your phone, charger, sunglasses, water bottle and whatever so you can get to them easily. Being in the middle of nowhere with no cell service or a dead phone because you forgot your charger really ruins a trip.

Weston Kia has a great service department and can do these checks for you. Or they can sell you a new Telluride, Sportage or Sorrento for the best trip, ever. Remember, everyone wins at Weston.
