Seljalandsfoss - The Land of Fire and Ice
Iceland is one of the first countries to welcome international travelers following the relaxation of COVID restrictions. Having just returned from this amazing county I can report it is truly beautiful. Reykjavik and the Geysir are a wonderful way to start the island visit with clean air, rising steam from vents and clear, clean water that tastes as if it just came from a magical underground spring.
The very popular Blue Lagoon with warm to hot waters and silicon mud to refresh your skin will start your journey as you relax post flight. An adventure by small boat to "Puffin Island" to see these charming small birds is a treat and waterfalls are in a great abundance,
The food, to our surprise was awesome, lamb is very plentiful, the beef was tender and the fish was as fresh as you can get. Most of the vegetables are grown in hot houses heated by the thermal waters and prepared with lots of great seasoning and flavors. Try the licorice and chocolate for a wonderful treat.
A visit to the Iceland Settlement Exhibition in Reykjavik is a delightful way to see how Icelanders lived.
Did you know there are 13 Santas? Each is a wonderful, mischievous Santa who causes a bit of havoc 13 days before Christmas and then delights the children with toys on Christmas day.
