Kia's 2021 Open Innovation Challenge for EV
Kia is leading the era of electric mobility with its electric and hybrid vehicles, including the Niro, Sorrento and the EV6, arriving in 2022. A Kia electric car or SUV is propelled by an electric motor. Its power source is a rechargeable battery. It can be charged at home and at public charging stations with a range of 170 to 239 miles on one charge. Electric vehicles are quiet because they don't have engine noises. They also provide instant power and acceleration, so they're fun to drive. Kia's EV and hybrid batteries have a ten year or 100,000-mile warranty, one of the best in the auto industry.
By collaborating with startups on projects relating to charging infrastructure and service solutions for electric vehicles (EV) Kia will encourage the implementation of pilot programs. The successful completion of the 2020 EV and Battery Challenge has inspired Kia to launch the 2021 EV Open Innovation Challenge. The Challenge recruits startups and entrepreneurs with innovative EV-charging products and services. The selections will be announced in December of 2021.
Startups can apply for one project only under one of nine categories: bi-directional charging, smart charging, robotics, infrastructure, in-car payment, service while plugged-in, battery management system (BMS), gig economy, and new technology until November 8, 2021.
You may not be a startup partner with Kia, but you can still take advantage of Kia's EV technology. Stop in test drive one at Weston Kia today. Everyone wins at Weston.
