Kia and Sustainability
Kia is working to preserve the climate. Following is a list of things Kia is doing.
20% of all Kia vehicle plastic parts made from recycled plastic by 2030.
Running pilot projects to commercially reuse EV batteries, working with local energy partners to recover and transform end-of-life batteries into energy storage systems.
All electric energy used at manufacturing sites will use 100% renewable energy by 2040: 100% at overseas sites by 2030 and at domestic sites in Korea by 2040.
Kia will establish solar energy generating systems at our manufacturing plants in Korea, China, the United States, and India. All vehicles used at our business sites will be EVs by 2030.
But just changing our manufacturing sites is not enough so Kia is working closely with our partners to preserve and protect the environment. This year Kia has guidelines and support programs in place for our tier-1 partners to reduce greenhouse gas reductions and achieve carbon neutrality. Kia will work closely with steel suppliers so they can provide Kia with green steel by 2030 which means they'll produce one-third as much carbon emissions as now.
Kia is on its way to an all-electric future with 11 electric vehicles on the market by 2026. The European market will be fully electric by 2035 and other markets by 2040.
Kia is leading the way among auto manufacturers by committing to carbon neutrality by 2045. Weston Kia is proud to be part of Kia's initiatives. Everyone and the planet wins at Weston.
