For some, Valentine's Day is just another day, and for others, it's a time to express love for that special someone, but love is so much more than just something we might think about this one day a year. It's pretty much the cornerstone of everything we do.

Love takes many forms and can sometimes be confused with what Hollywood's definition determines, but as a business and as a customer, a relationship can be established and cultivated with a love that spans time, cultures, transitions and just about anything else. A relationship based on a deliberate and unconditional love that is the result of choices and behaviors rather than feelings or emotions. Its about the values we embrace as a way of life, and a commitment to regard others with respect and trust.

Gresham Ford has a motto, "the Dealer with a Heart" and we strive to be the most trusted, i.e. loved partner with our customers in regard to one of the most necessary investments a person owns. Their vehicle. Treating our customers with respect, listening to their needs and investing in them as a community is our highest priority. And for the most part, we feel our customers respect and trust us in return. Love works.

In a world that is heading more and more towards the digital relationship, having a connection with someone, or something like a business seems almost foreign. But as our world shrinks, these connections will be of great value and having an actual person that you know and trust in your business community is priceless. That being said, don't forget to love your local businesses. Take the time to shop local first, create those connections with your local shop keepers and in return, they'll contribute back to this community that we call home!

Happy Valentine's Day from all of us here at Gresham Ford and we look forward to "loving" you all year round.

You count on us to stay informed and we depend on you to fund our efforts. Quality local journalism takes time and money. Please support us to protect the future of community journalism.
