Police say the driver of a sedan has died after the car was struck by a truck in Troutdale.

KOIN 6 NEWS PHOTO - A two-car crash left at least one person dead in Troutdale on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The driver of a sedan has died after a truck driving uphill lost control on Southwest 257th Drive and collided with the other vehicle on Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Troutdale.

Police say the truck driver was heading southbound around 11:15 a.m. when the driver lost control and collided with the sedan, which was traveling north down 257th. The crash occurred just south of Cherry Park Road.

The truck driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, according to a news release.

Transportation officials report that 257th Drive will remain closed in both directions for several more hours to allow police to investigate the scene.

"Drivers should use alternate routes, such as 242nd Drive," transportation spokesman Mike Pullen wrote in a press announcement.

"MCSO urges everyone to drive safely in wet weather conditions," added Lt. Chad Gaidos with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office. "Leave extra space between vehicles and travel at safe speeds!"
