GreyWolves owner Jon Ryan will greet public at Crunch Fitness on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

CONTRIBUTED - Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan, center, will visit the Gresham Sherwin-Williams store and Crunch Fitness on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 28.  Seattle Seahawks punter and Gresham GreyWolves Baseball owner Jon Ryan will visit Gresham for two events on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

Ryan will be the Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce's featured guest at its Try Local Tuesday event from 4:30-5 p.m. at Sherwin-Williams paints, 277 N.E. 223rd Ave., Gresham. The event is for chamber members only, but Ryan will immediately go next door to Crunch Fitness, to mingle with the general public and sign autographs.

GreyWolves representatives will distribute copies of their 2018 schedule at both events.

Ryan is a member of Rose City Baseball, the ownership group that purchased the Gresham GreyWolves on Nov. 2 and announced that the Portland Pickles would join the West Coast League.

Ryan, 35, a Canadian-born National Football League punter with the Seahawks, started his career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. He was signed by the Green Bay Packers in 2006 and joined the Seahawks in 2008.

According to sportrac.com, Ryan signed a four-year, $10 million contract to remain with the Seahawks in March 2016.

Lynn Snodgrass, CEO of the Gresham chamber, noted Ryan's visit will be a special treat for East Multnomah County.

"We are thrilled to have Seahawk Jon Ryan in town for our Try Local Tuesday," she said. "Chamber members Sherwin Williams, Crunch, and Gresham GreyWolves collaborating for a Try Local event is exciting. It's a fun opportunity for businesses and sports fans young and old to come together and celebrate with each other and the general public as well. I personally can't wait to get Jon's signature."

Launched in 2016, the Gresham GreyWolves is an independent collegiate summer baseball team that plays at Oslund Field at Mt. Hood Community College. The team has had two successful years in the West Coast League. For the 2018 season, the GreyWolves will play as an Independent team, squaring off against other teams throughout the western U.S.

RCB purchased the GreyWolves on Nov. 2, the same day The Portland Pickles college team joined the West Coast League.

The GreyWolves played the past two seasons as members of the West Coast League. The former GreyWolves ownership group, led by Scott Barchus, will join Rose City Baseball to work with both teams.

The two collegiate summer baseball teams will matchup for 11 exhibition games in 2018, the first of which is set for June 19 at Walker Stadium in Portland.  

Ryan is married to stand-up comedian Sarah Colonna and appeared frequently on her podcast "Off The Rails" with Josh Wolf, confirmed representatives from The Pickles. His older sister Jill is the wife of Andrew Scheer, the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada. He and Colonna both appeared on Bar Rescue as one of the recon spies for Black Light District Rock & Roll Lounge.
