New bus line begins service next week in East County
TriMet is expanding its service in East Multnomah County, making it easier for commuters to reach new areas in the community.
Part of TriMet's spring service improvements includes Line 74, which runs primarily on Southeast 162nd Avenue between Southeast Powell Boulevard and Northeast Airport Way.
The line is expected to offer better connections to areas with good, family wage jobs. That includes the Columbia Corridor and Troutdale Airport Business Park, FedEx Ground distribution hub and Amazon's future distribution center. It should also streamline activities like dropping off kids at daycare, shopping and accessing social services.
Buses for the new service will roll out Monday, March 5.
