Potential students can get a look at what Mt. Hood Community College offers — from GEDs to certificates in multiple career fields to just-for-fun classes — at the school's annual Preview Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the main Gresham campus, 26000 S.E. Stark St.

Students just graduating from high school or those considering a career change can chat with faculty, staff, counselors and financial aid officers and look around the campus.

"If you're curious about Mt. Hood Community College, you'll want to attend Preview Day," Jessica Ruiz, MHCC student recruitment coordinator, said in an announcement. You'll have the chance to participate in workshops on applying to college, meet with MHCC instructors and staff and really familiarize yourself with the college. Family is invited too."

Preview Day includes guided tours of the academic buildings and a panel discussion by students, faculty and staff on the college experience and how to get started.

The college offers more than 120 degrees and certificates as well as programs to transfer to four-year colleges.

"There'll be students there from the Associated Student Government and other organizations on campus who you can meet with and learn more about MHCC from," said Rebecca Rodas, MHCC student recruiter and adviser to the Student Outreach and Recruitment Team.

"Plus, you can enjoy a free lunch on us and have the chance to win great prizes," she said.
