Gresham Farmers Market moving
This year the Gresham Farmers Market will be moving to a new home midway through the 2018 season due to a request from the city — but thankfully for those who love the downtown market, it will only be shifted a few blocks away.
"We are moving, but it's going to be the same market people know and love," said Jon Berlin, market manager.
The Gresham Farmers Market opens for the season Saturday, May 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at its usual location on the corner of Northwest Miller Avenue and Northeast Third Street. It will remain in the parking lot for the next 10 weeks, showcasing the best offerings from farmers, bakers, artists and musicians.
Then on July 28th, the market will move next to the Gresham Arts Plaza, running along Third Street between Northeast Hood Avenue and Northeast Kelly Avenue. It will continue at the Arts Plaza for the rest of the season, through October.
Organizers of the market are excited because the plaza will allow kids to play at the splash fountain, and ample grass means plenty of family picnic spots.
