Police take it to the roof in support of Special Olympics
Gresham Police officers will join law enforcement from around the region in climbing onto rooftops to support Special Olympics of Oregon.
The day-long "Police on the Pantry" fundraiser will be held Friday, June 1, at Plaid Pantry stores across Oregon. In Gresham, they will be on the convenience store at 22222 S.E. Stark St. where officers will sit on the store's the roof in two shifts, from 7-9:30 a.m. and 3-5:30 p.m.
Joining the officers will be Special Olympics Oregon athletes and their families.
Leading up to the Friday event, all 108 Plaid Pantry stores are selling $1 icons to promote and raise additional funds for Special Olympics Oregon. Ask your cashier to add the icon to your purchase. Then during "Police on the Pantry," any visitor who donates a minimum of $5 will receive a special thank you from Plaid Pantry.

Special Olympics Oregon serves more than 14,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities.
