Suspect steals tractor, tears up Barlow High football field
Gresham police are seeking a suspect who tore up the Barlow High School turf football field with a stolen tractor.
The damage caused by the vandal at the school at 5105 S.E. 302nd Ave. was discovered Monday morning, June 4. The suspect used the trenching tool to rip up large portions of the field near the 50-yard line and damage the track, police said. The repairs could cost thousands of dollars to the district.
Caught on security footage, it appears only one person stole the tractor, which was taken from a nearby nursery. The vehicle was discovered Monday afternoon, but officers are still seeking the individual behind the vandalism.
The damage to the field is affecting Barlow football's spring practices, and the school is unsure how long it will take to finish repairs.
