Stark St. hosted the event for those in the community who rely on the food pantry every month. It was also a chance for SnowCap to welcome the sponsors and donors who help stock the food shelves and keep the lights on.

"We wanted to do something nice for the neighborhood," said Kirsten Wageman, executive director of SnowCap.

Visitors enjoyed a food spread that included burgers, hot dogs, and more while touring the facilities. There were plenty of activities for children as well including mermaids, games, books to take home, firefighters with sticker badges, and gifts.

SnowCap provides food, clothing, advocacy and other services to the community, covering an area encompassing Gresham, East Portland, Troutdale, Fairview and Wood Village. The nonprofit organization serves about 9,000 people every month.
