Knights of Veritas' science program, musicians Micah and Me and ceramic painting coming up

OUTLOOK PHOTO - Knights of Veritas The Multnomah County Library's summer reading program is in full swing and that means tons of fun performances, programs and activities are coming to the four local branches.

Kids can win cool prizes by reading, being read to or doing other literacy activities as part of the library's summer reading game. Visit your closest branch to sign up and get the details on the program.

Surely you joust!

The super-popular Knights of Veritas will present a fast-paced, family-friendly program suitable for all ages focusing on connecting things medieval to STREAM concepts (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts and Math).

The program, from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, will include fan favorites such as a leverage demonstration with an audience member and cutting demonstration with a sword and some never-before-seen stunts. If the weather permits, this program will be held at Fairview Community Park, 21600 N.E. Park Lane.

Bop to the music

Kindy-rock musicians Micah and Me will play their spunky music for a free family-friendly dance party from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at the Gresham Library, 385 N.W. Miller Ave.

Paint ceramics

Artists Terri and Wayne Jones will lead a free workshop for children and their grownups on painting summery nature themes such as bugs, birds, flowers and more on ceramics.

The Rockwood Library will supply the ceramic pieces, paint, brushes, smocks, water tubs and mats for the craft session from 4-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 11. The pieces are painted with lead-free acrylic paint and ready to be taken home in just a few minutes.
