Benefit book signing set for downtown Gresham
Local author Stephanie Solomon will sign her new children's book, "#knowyourworth," Thursday, Oct. 18, and Saturday, Oct. 20, at two locations in downtown Gresham. The event is also to help support breast cancer research.
Solomon will be at Sugar Cubed Cake, 101 N. Main Ave., at 3:30 p.m. Thursday Oct. 18, and at Maggie Mae's Kids Bookshop, 43 N.W. Third St., at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20. Solomon has set a personal fundraising goal of $5,000 and will donate a portion of her book sale proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
"#knowyourworth" is aimed at youngsters ages 2-7, with a message of understanding your own worth, being kind and humble and following your dreams. The book was inspired by Solomon's pet tortoise Penelope Joy, who will make an appearance during the signing at Maggie Mae's. Only 300 copies of "#knowyourworth" have been printed.
