Each test drive at Gresham Ford brings $20 to local food pantry charity organization

Hop behind the wheel of a Ford on Friday to support a local charity that feeds the hungry.

Gresham Ford, 1999 Powell Blvd., will donate $20 to SnowCap Community Charities when you test drive one of their vehicles any time between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2. The Drive 4 UR Community benefit is part of the annual Fill-A-Bag event, which is the largest annual food drive to benefit SnowCap.

SnowCap provides food, clothing, advocacy and other services to the community, covering an area that encompasses Gresham, east Portland, Troutdale, Fairview and Wood Village. The food pantry serves more than 9,000 people every month and continues to grow each year.

As winter nears, more families in the community rely on the services SnowCap provides, which inevitably results in the food pantry running low. That underscores Fill-A-Bag's importance, as it helps replenish supplies during the crucial holiday season.

The event kicks off the fun two months for Fill-A-Bag, spearheaded Riverview Community Bank and Gresham Ford.

Upcoming events are Friday, Nov. 9, at Biscuits Café; Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 14-15, at the Metro East Media Holiday Showcase; and Saturday, Nov. 26, at Gresham's Spirit of Christmas festival.
