Centennial Neighborhood shooting leads to arrest
Portland Police Bureau East Precinct officers investigated a shooting in the Centennial Neighborhood Sunday afternoon, Oct. 28.
Officers received reports of the shooting around 2:46 p.m. when witnesses said two people were firing handguns at the Marla Manor Apartments, 644 S.E. 148th Ave. Police found two bullet strikes on an apartment building.
After searching the nearby neighborhood, officers arrested 19-year-old SirCharles M. Jones in connection to the shooting. According to law enforcement, there was an argument between two groups of people, during which the shooting began.
There are no reports of anyone arriving at local hospitals with gunfire injuries tied to the shooting.
Jones is being held at the Multnomah County Jail on an allegation of unlawful use of a firearm.
