Man arrested for DUII, hit and run after driving car into boat dealership
A man crashed an SUV into the Gladstone Clemens Marina boat dealership, 19215 McLoughlin Blvd. on the morning of Thursday, Nov. 1.
The driver allegedly drove a white 2015 Toyota Rav4 into the boat lot at approximately 4 a.m. on Nov. 1, causing extensive damage to boats, trailers, and the dealership's fence, according to a press release from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. Police identified the driver as Matthew Jay Kenneth Folsom, 19, of Gresham.
Folsom fled the scene after being confronted by witnesses at the dealership. After about an hour of searching the area, deputies were not having any luck finding the man, but then he returned to the crash scene. Folsom started cursing at deputies and officers, who then arrested him on charges including criminal mischief, hit and run and DUII. His bail was set at $15,000.
Damage caused at the boat dealership was estimated at $150,000.
