About 50 yards of debris fell in a landslide that closed the I-84 eastbound onramp to exit 41 near Cascade Locks on Wednesday morning, Feb. 20.

The exit leads to the Eagle Creek Fish Hatchery and the Eagle Creek trailhead. The recreation area is still closed because of Eagle Creek wildfire.

The Eagle Creek Fire was caused by a 15-year-old boy throwing fireworks into the Eagle Creek Canyon in the Columbia River Gorge on Sept. 2, 2017. The blaze eventually consumed more than 48,000 acres in the Gorge.

Cascade Locks. KOIN 6  - A landslide closes exit 41 on I-84 Wednesday, Feb. 20. The exit leads to the Eagle Creek recration area that has been closed since September 2017 when a fire started in the area.

Cascade Locks and the Gorge have received winter weather recently with snow and rain hammering the area for weeks.

The landslide didn't affect through traffic on I-84, according to Oregon Department of Transportation.
