An important nonprofit organization is hosting an auction to support filling the shelves in its food pantry, and the whole community is invited to join in the fun.

SnowCap Community Charities' annual Auction will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, 8439 N.E. Columbia Blvd., Portland. A silent auction will kick things off, with the live auction scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. The premiere sponsor for the event is Walsh Trucking.

SnowCap is dedicated to serving the needs of low-income people living in East Multnomah County through the distribution of food and clothing and advocating for the poor.
