Join Friends of Nadaka and the Portland Audubon Society for a free day of family fun to celebrate the turkey vulture's return to Oregon this spring. Learn about vultures in our community and meet a real turkey vulture.
The event runs from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Nadaka Nature Park and St. Aiden's Episcopal Church, 17405 N.E. Glisan St.
Folks can meet the adorable Ruby (Portland Audubon's live turkey vulture) and other education birds, compare their "wingspan" to a California Condor, create vulture crafts and masks and play vulture-themed games.
There will be storytelling, a nature scavenger hunt, snacks and drinks.
