Library hosts bilingual puppet storytime

Solitary Puppetry presents three bilingual stories of clever animals: a mouse who outsmarts a cat; a lazy cuckoo who works hard to save seeds; and the lamb who turns tables on a trickster coyote.

The free performance is from 10:15-11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, at the Troutdale Library, 2451 S.W. Cherry Park Road. The performance is best for ages 3-5 with an adult caregiver.

MHCC alums invited to stargazing event

Mt. Hood Community College is hosting a special free event for alumni on Thursday, April 4, starting with a reception and followed by an exclusive planetarium show featuring the latest galactic, stellar and planetary images.

The reception is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Student Union, Room AC 1051. The planetarium show is 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the Planetarium Sky Theater, Room AC 1305. RSVP is required by Monday, April 1 at:

Children learn printmaking

Artist Alex Chiu will help children explore several methods of printmaking including rubbings, stamps, stencils and inkblots in a free workshop from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at the Gresham Library, 385 N.W. Miller Ave.

Children and their caregivers can come to Maggie Mae's Kids Bookshop, 43 N.W. Third St., at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, and listen to "box" stories and then create whatever they can dream up out of cardboard boxes.
